Southwest Baptist University accounting majors will benefit again this year as several SBU accounting alumni have volunteered their time to participate in the second year of a mentoring program.
SBU Accounting Department Chair Wayne Clark, CPA, said, -These alumni will serve one-on-one as mentors to majors as they progress through SBU%s accounting program and into the world of business as an accounting or financial professional. These SBU accounting alumni have been where majors are now and where they are headed. The alumni mentors can help students affirm their academic emphasis, and they can provide guidance as to how students can make the most of their SBU experience. The alumni mentors are also in a position to provide tips on making the transition from SBU accounting major to SBU accounting alum as a -servant leader in a global society.'
-The mentoring program began in October 2005,' Clark said, -and we are about to ramp-up for the 2006-07 school year. All SBU accounting majors are eligible to take advantage of this opportunity-- including new accounting freshmen.'
Those interested in the mentoring program as a student or as an accounting alumnus/a, please contact Clark at 417-328-1951.
