With a limited number of healthy runners, the Southwest Baptist University track and field teams had only nine members compete in the Central Missouri State Mule Relays last weekend.

For the women, in the 800-meter run, freshman Amy Broadhurst finished 10th and senior Sara Tedford finished 27th. In the 5,000-meter race, junior Jackie Dunn captured 4th place and junior Erika Anderson finished 19th. Senior Jenny Trevathan competed in the 400-meter hurdles and finished 15th.

The men had a tougher time with the competition. Senior Brandon Sherrer finished 54th in the 800-meter race. In the 1,000-meter race, junior Tom Miner was 22nd, senior John Harris 29th and sophomore Michael Haub finished 31st.

On the way home from the meet, the team was involved in a serious automobile accident. See "Track team survives"for details.
