UPS and Supinator dominate intramurals

In April 14 action, the No Femmes dominated Thoccer and cruised to a 10-0 victory, and the Supinators knocked off Wakapuka in a tight 2-1 contest. To close out the action for the day, UPS defeated Maupin United by a score of 5-1 and Arsenal crushed the Ultimate Warriors 5-0.
April 14 also marked a dangerous day of intramural action when freshman Luke Oldweiler suffered a broken pinky, damaging the finger in two places.
On April 15 UPS kicked off the action and contined their winning ways by beating Kick Them Balls 3-1. Wakapuka avenged their loss the previous day by trouncing Motivators 10-0 and Waffle Rockers won when Wun Wai was forced to forfeit. In the nightcap Kick Your Poo pulled out a 4-1 win over Short Bus.
Opening up soccer action this week on April 19 Short Bus who won by forfeit over Pink Ladies. Wakapuka bettered The Intimidators by a score of 4-1, UPS hammered Thoccer 8-0, and the Supinators closed out the day's action by sneaking past Waffle Rockers 5-3.
Graduate student and Supinators co-captain Sharon Copeland helped lead the team to the key victory.
"It was great," Copeland said. "We all worked together as a team. We've had a great season so far, we're undefeated and we hope to keep it that way."
Copeland went on the explain the origins of her team's unique name.
"People think it is because we like soup," Copeland said. "But really it's a medical term that refers to turning the palm upward."
April 20 saw two forfeits as the Outlaws took advantage of Wun Wai's failure to produce enough players and Motivators capitalized on Kick Your Poo's lack of available personnel. In on the field action, Thoccer shutout Kick Them Balls 3-0 and UPS narrowly outpaced Arsenal 2-1.
