*The Southwest Baptist University annual Intramural Softball Tournament will be held May 14, 15 and possibly 16. The cost is $100 per team, with a maximum number of 15 players per team. The captains meeting will be Monday, May 10 at 6 p.m. in the SBU Game Room. Specific rules will be discussed at the meeting. Teams will be co-ed with a minimum of four women on the field at all times. NCAA student athletes with scholarships are not eligible to play. *A 3-on-3 Co-ed Sand Volleyball Tournament will be held this Saturday, May 8, at 9 a.m. at the sand volleyball court behind Landen Hall. Registration will be at 8:30 a.m. at the court. All teams must have a 2-1 male-to-female ratio of players on the court and team rosters are limited to a maximum of four players. Each match will be the best two-out-three games, and the tournament format will either be double-elimination or round-robin, depending on the number of teams entered. The entry fee for the tournament is $15, and all proceeds will go to help purchase lights for the court. The tournament is open to all SBU students, faculty and staff. Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams. *An intramural football director is needed for the Fall 2004 semester. The position pays $500 and students can contact Nicole McGovern at 328-1855 for more information or to set up an interview. *SBU men's and women's assistant basketball coaches, Maury and Torey Leitzke, are leaving the Bearcat coaching staffs. Maury accepted a job at Cameron University while Torey pursues her master's degree in teaching. *Carrie Long, a former SBU All-MIAA basketball player, has been hired as the Lady Bearcat's new women's basketball assistant coach. She will join the coaching staff in the fall. As a player, Long was a two-time unanimous choice for All-MIAA. She also holds the SBU record for free throws made in a career (398) and free throw attempts in a career (533) and is third on the all-time SBU scoring list with 1,380 points.
