In the first major meet after the wreck of April 16, the Southwest Baptist University track and field team fought against bad weather.

At the Southwest Missouri State Queen City Invitational, the conditions were 45 degrees and raining the whole weekend.

On the women's side, senior Sara Tedford finished fith in the 800-meter race.

In the 1,500-meter, freshman Amy Broadhurst finished sixth.

In the 400-meter hurdles, senior Jenny Trevathan finished second.

Running unattached for SBU was sophomore T. Jay Sanderson who finished second in the men's 1,500-meter race.

The SBU teams are now gearing up for the MIAA championships which will be held this weekend at Northwest Missouri State.
