The Southwest Baptist University directing class is gearing up for the annual Fesitval of One Acts. This year 11 students will take their place in the director's chair for the Dec. 8 - 11 event.

Auditions for the One Acts will take place Monday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. in the Davis-Newport Theatre. Those auditioning should come prepared with a 30 second comedic monologue and a 30 second dramatic monologue. The audition will also include improv games.

Directors will be casting approximately 50 students in roles for the shows.

"Chances are if someone auditions, they'll get a cast in at least one one-act," Greg Fiebig said. "The rehearsal schedules are a bit shorter and less involved than Showcase or MainStage productions, so sometimes students are able to be involved onstage without the heavy-duty time commitment to a regular show."

"[Students] should come to auditions," junior directing student Jen Morris said. "Or I'll cry."
