Several Southwest Baptist organizations are collaborating to present an ethics event that will run March 5 - 9 on the SBU campus.
Faculty will be emphasizing ethical topics in their classes. Topics for student events will include plagiarism, a songwriter's showcase, applied ethics in a current contentious issue for our culture, ethics in physical therapy, ethics in medicine and others.
The events will include an ethics quiz and a "What not to Wear" fashion video for ladies only. All students and faculty are encouraged to attend Ethics Week events.
Some of the organizations working together to bring this event to SBU students include Psi Chi & Sociology / Criminal Justice Honor Society students, SIFE, Pre-PT and Pre-Health students, Delta Mu Delta, residence halls and others.
Throughout Ethics Week, displays, signs and questions will be placed in various places around campus so students can start thinking about some of the ethical issues that will be presented during the events. Times and locations will also be advertised throughout the week. The "Ethics Clue Game" will be ongoing in the business school all week.
A pre-Ethics Week event will kick things off at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27 when Evelyn Mercer, assitant professor of sociology, presents "Mandated Reporting of Child Abuse" in Meyer Recital Hall.
The Ethics Week schedule of events for March 5 - 9 is listed in the graphic to the right.
Times and locations of current events will be posted throughout campus during Ethics Week. All students and faculty members are invited and encouraged to participate in the Ethics Week events.
