New volleyball coach hired

Brent Good, director of athletics at Southwest Baptist University, has announced the hiring of head volleyball coach Kelly Richardson.
Richardson has been head volleyball coach at Republic High School, where she led Republic to both District 10 and Sectional Championships for the first time in school history.
Richardson, a native of Willard, Missouri, has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Evangel University, and is pursuing a Masters of Science in Education from Missouri State University.
While playing at Evangel, she earned 1st Team All Conference three years, 1st Team All Region twice, and 3rd Team NAIA All American in 2003. During her career, she was selected as National Player of the Week three times.
"I'm very honored to be part of the SBU program," sayidRichardson. "I love SBU. I love what it represents. I'm looking forward to this opportunity."
Brent Good commented, "We're extremely excited that [Richardson] is going to be our new volleyball coach. She brings her network of local ties to the SBU program. She also brings an obvious passion for the sport and a strong Christian commitment. We're excited to give her an opportunity to build this program."
