Southwest Baptist's Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) will compete for cash prizes and a position in the SIFE USA National Exposition when they travel to Rogers, Ark. for the March 30 SIFE USA Regional Competition.
The Rogers USA Regional is one of 17 SIFE competitions being held across the United States in March and April. At the regional, SBU will be competing against 21 other Midwest schools including Missouri State, Missouri Western State, Missouri Baptist, College of the Ozarks, Oral Roberts, Pittsburgh State, Truman State, Central Arkansas, Central Missouri, William Jewell College and the University of Arkansas.
"The SIFE team has worked hard this year and is excited to showcase their efforts at the regional competition," said Troy Bethards, SBU professor and SIFE adviser. "The team has proved success through the projects completed this year."
If SBU wins at Rogers, they would earn the right to advance to the 2007 SIFE USA National Exposition set for May 6-8 in Dallas, Texas.

SIFE teams create economic opportunities in their communities by organizing outreach projects that teach market economics, entrepreneurship, personal financial success skills and business ethics.

SBU SIFE organized 14 projects in the Bolivar community for the 2006-2007 academic year, including Risky Business, a project that taught students at Bolivar Middle School how to run a business.
The project called for students to create and sell products in a bazaar held at their school.
