Lady Bearcat tennis team regionally ranked

Taking on Midwestern State the following day, the Lady' 'Cats came up on the short end of a 7-2 loss. Cook (4-6, 6-3, 6-4) and Janzen (6-2, 5-7, 6-2) got SBU's two wins in singles.
Against Graceland University, the Lady 'Cats offered little grace to their opponents in a lopsided 7-2 victory. Janzen (6-3, 6-0), Wolfgramm (6-4, 6-2), Olsson (6-1, 6-1) and Janzekovich (6-3, 6-4) all notched singles wins with doubles victories going to Wolfgramm / Cook (8-0) and Olsson / Janzen (8-3).
In Joplin for a March 17 MIAA meeting with Missouri Southern State, the Lady 'Cats got off to a 1-2 start in doubles as Olsson / Janzen (8-3) picked up SBU's lone win. In singles, Janzen (6-2, 6-3), Wolfgramm (6-1, 6-3) and Olsson (6-3, 6-2) all garnered wins, but three-set losses by Cook (6-3, 2-6, 6-7) and Janzekovich (6-2, 6-7, 6-8) and a straight-set loss by Moceo (5-7, 2-6) left the Lady 'Cats on the short end of 5-4 score.
Moving on to Maryville, SBU met up with another MIAA opponent in Northwest Missouri State. With Janzen / Olsson (9-8) and Wolfgramm / Cook (8-5) getting wins in the three doubles matches, the Lady 'Cats needed to gain at least a split of their six single matches. Wins by Cook (6-3, 2-6, 6-1) and Wolfgramm (6-2, 6-1) got the Lady 'Cats off to a good start, but three-set losses by Janzen (3-6, 6-1, 2-6) and Janzekovich (6-4, 2-6, 1-6) along with a straight sets loss by Moceo (3-6, 2-6) sealed SBU's fate in a hard luck 5-4 defeat.
Playing Rockhurst in Kansas City the next day, the Lady 'Cats lost their third straight 5-4 decision. Olsson / Janzen (9-7) garnered SBU's one doubles win with Cook (6-2, 6-4), Olsson (6-3, 6-4) and Moceo (2-6, 6-2, 10-4) winning in singles.
The Lady 'Cats turned their fortunes around with consecutive victories over Missouri Western State (6-3), the University of Nebraska-Kearney (5-2) and Lincoln University (6-0).
In their March 22 meet with Missouri Western, Olsson / Janzen (8-4) won in doubles with Cook (6-0, 6-0), Janzen (6-1, 6-1), Olsson (6-0, 6-3), Farris (6-5, 7-5) and Moceo (6-1, 6-2) all winning in singles.
Playing Nebraska-Kearney the next day, the Lady 'Cats literally turned out the lights in an indoor meet cut short to save court costs. Olsson / Janzen (8-5) and Moceo / Janzekovich (8-5) captured doubles wins with Janzen (6-0, 6-1), Olsson (6-3, 6-1) and Farris (6-1, 6-4) winning in singles.
Returning to Bolivar for a March 27 home meet with Lincoln, SBU pulled off a clean sweep of their six singles matches. Cook (6-2, 6-1), Janzen (4-6, 6-0), Olsson (6-0, 6-1), Farris (6-2, 6-0), Moceo (6-1, 6-0) and Janzekovich (6-0, 6-0) all prevailed in straight sets.
Up next for SBU (10-6 and 2-2) is a 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31 meet with St. Cloud State. The Lady 'Cats next home meet will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 9 against Emporia State.
