Newly elected Student Body President senior Ivry Karamitros has a lot on her plate. Not only with leading the student body, but she is also the founder and president of a new organization on campus called Raise Your Voice. "Our mission is to serve the students at SBU, our community, our nation and our world through the discussion of ideas.
It was the 1930s, in the midst of the Great Depression and Prohibition. Many men turned to a life of crime, trading poverty for money and fame. "Baby Face" Nelson and Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd were both notorious bank robbers of their time. The little known fact about Bolivar is that Floyd is inextricably connected with Bolivar in our town's history through his partner in crime: Adam Richetti.
Almost one year removed from the terrible incident at Cowboys 2000, I felt now was a good time to evaluate the extensive changes made by Southwest Baptist University to improve student safety, better punish policy breakers and fix community ties with the city of Bolivar.
