The band is The Fratellis, and the name of the album is Costello Music.
The Fratellis are an awardwinning indie rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. They have only been a band for 2 years, but have developed a full, mature sound that takes years for many bands to obtain.
Costello Music has been sampled for an iTunes commercial and has been featured on MTV and FUSE. The first show that they ever played was sold out in record time. But the hype stops there.
This band is strong, fun and catchy. They put a smile on my face every time I listen to them. They have a sort of jumpy sound, but are still able to keep melodies. I find myself tapping my foot along with almost every song. Quiet verses and loud raucous choruses make this band seem strong on all fronts.
The lead singer has a great voice for rock and roll and his raspy tone gets this band places.
The album is really catchy, but it is also so cool. Some of the songs sound like they were recorded in a Scottish bar, with everyone shouting the lyrics. It's great; it makes me want to get a bunch of friends together and just shout the lyrics.
This band is the Scottish equivalent of a bunch of frat boys that learned how to play rock. Costello Music is a really great album. It is the kind of music that can be punk enough for a bad day, but is also a perfect album for a warm sunny day of driving around in the car, going nowhere.
