In the first game, the Gorillas scored one run in the first three innings. The Lady 'Cats had eight total hits in the game, but were not able to score a run until the fifth inning, when Ashley Loftis hit her first homer of the season. After the third inning, Pitt State did not score another run.
The winning pitcher for the first game was junior Stephanie Moore, going seven complete innings, giving up one earned run on eight hits, striking out four batters. SBU's Orchard fell to 4-11. In seven innings, Orchard gave up three runs on four hits, walking two batters and striking out four.
In the second game, the Lady 'Cats did not score until the third inning, when Orchard hit a home run scoring the only SBU run of the game. The Gorillas score their other two runs in the fourth inning when Lockhart reached base on an error, and freshman Jessica Jones hit a home run to put Pitt State up 3-1.
