Softball struggles continue

In the first game, the Gorillas scored one run in the first three innings. The Lady 'Cats had eight total hits in the game, but were not able to score a run until the fifth inning, when Ashley Loftis hit her first homer of the season. After the third inning, Pitt State did not score another run.
The winning pitcher for the first game was junior Stephanie Moore, going seven complete innings, giving up one earned run on eight hits, striking out four batters. SBU's Orchard fell to 4-11. In seven innings, Orchard gave up three runs on four hits, walking two batters and striking out four.
In the second game, the Lady 'Cats did not score until the third inning, when Orchard hit a home run scoring the only SBU run of the game. The Gorillas score their other two runs in the fourth inning when Lockhart reached base on an error, and freshman Jessica Jones hit a home run to put Pitt State up 3-1.
The winning pitcher was Pittsburg State senior JoAnna Brozovich improving to 4-10 on the season, going five complete innings, giving up one earned run on three hits, striking out two. Taking the save for Pitt State was junior Stephanie Moore (1). Taking the loss for SBU was Mortimer, falling to 0-6 on the seasons.
SBU's record falls to 5-26, 0-10 in MIAA action.
