SBU commemorates presidential inauguration

Ten years and counting. The inauguration of Southwest Baptist President Dr. C. Pat Taylor was commemorated Wednesday, April 25. On that date in 1997, Taylor was inaugurated as SBU's 24th president after a seven-month nationwide search.
Taylor and his wife, First Lady Judy Taylor, were both honored last year with a special anniversary celebration for their 10 years of service to the University.
Taylor assumed the University's presidential duties in October 1996 and was officially inaugurated in April 1997.
According to the American Council on Education, the average tenure for a college president is 8.5 years.
