Junior Mat Crouse's design was chosen as the winner of this year's contest.
Crouse feels his design "is a better representation of the SBU campus."
Crouse explained that the project started out as an assignment for a design class, but his design received enough votes to pass through the primary vote.
Crouse spent a lot of time working on the final design, and his hard work earned him the golden sticker. The sticker will give Crouse the freedom to park in any designated parking spot on campus, excluding the handicapped and maintenance spots.
Zeke Clawson, assistant director of Safety and Security, said that if used all year, the parking sticker would be worth over $5,000.
There were 21 entries in this year's competition, and 300 votes were cast.
The contest was open to any SBU student.
The runners up were senior Lindsay Neumann and junior Jeremiah Neumann.
