Seniors say their goodbyes to SBU
Issue date: 5/11/07 Section: Forum
When students come to college, they expect to gain an education through books, curriculum and lectures, but for me, most of my education has come from my experiences at SBU. Classes don't teach you good character, the value of friendship, good work ethic, professionalism, that fact that you have choices in life, how to make those choices or how to have an open mind. All of those things have come from getting involved with campus activities and organizations and hanging out with people who think differently than me. I owe many thanks to my growth as a human being to The Omnibus and all of those who are, and have been, affiliated with it. I am firm believer that every student should get involved in at least one activity, club or organization at some point in their college career. You will be better for it, and you will most likely make SBU a better place by caring and being involved.
Through making SBU better through involvement, hopefully you will encounter individuals who have helped you or bettered you somehow through their involvement in your life. I am going to take advantage of my power to do this and thank those who have helped and inspired me along this two-year journey with The Omnibus: Mr. Sukany, Ian, Jessica, Jesica, Jimmy, Little Zach, Ben, Charlotte, Ivry, Erik, Michal, Matt, Joey, Rob, Big Zach, Chris, Julia, Quint and Darren.
I wish for all students currently at, and those coming to, SBU the kind of education, encouragement and support these people and this school has brought me. I also wish for all of the students the kind of friendships, education and growth I have received. Enjoy your time at SBU. Make the most of it, and then you will be able to say, "I got it."

This is the last article I will ever write for The Omnibus. This is the last week I will edit writers' articles. This is the last week I will design the forum page. This is the last week.
This is very difficult for me to write, knowing it will be my final work.
