The Alaska team left May 20 and returned June 9. Led by Kyle Ausmus and Sarah Lewis, the team of 16 worked with the Tlingit people in Hoonah Alaska.
"We rebuilt a lot of the community, such as porches, railings, roofs, because they had just come out of a 30 foot snow fall," said sophomore Andy Hanson.
The team did worked for the elders of the Tlingit community because elders are held in a very high reverence.
During the second half of the week, the team helped park rangers with the Hoonah Days celebration.
"The thing that left the biggest impression on me was when the Tlingit's put on a native dance and shared their traditional beliefs," said sophomore Hannah Utley. "Their creation story was similar to the Christian creation story, and it was interesting to hear the similarities.".
The mission team to Hamburg, Germany left May 21 and returned June 2. This trip was lead by Nicky Ward, director of Discipleship Ministries. The team had nine members.
"Our goal was to do relationship evangelism," said Ward.
Hamburg is one of the largest port cities in the world, creating cultural diversity. The group worked at several universities meeting students, creating friendships and introducing them to the full time missionaries.
The third team served in Egypt from May 21 until June 5. John Tucker led the team of nine.
The team worked in Cairo as well as the Upper Egyptian Desert with the Bedouin people.
The main goal of the trip was building relationships. The team tried to get to know shop owners and went to parks to meet people and engage them in conversation.
