Baptist University sent its first student mission team to Utah for the specific purpose of sharing Christ with members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS).
Fundraising was difficult as usual, but many members of the group were met with opposition from family members and friends because they did not agree with the mission.
"Aren't Mormons Christians too?" was a common response many of us received when sharing about our trip before and after we returned.
Many Republican Christians who use faith as voting criteria are turning to Mitt Romney, an active member of the LDS church, as a possible alternative to the lack of an outspoken mainstream Christian Republican candidate.
Why not? He's a Christian right? I mean Jesus Christ is in the name of the church: the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

I am going to focus on the two most important things when looking at any religion: the identity of Jesus and eternal life.
By comparing the beliefs of the LDS church with what the Bible shows us we will be able to determine whether the LDS church can be classified as a Christian faith.
First we are going to look at the Jesus of the LDS church. Who is he? Is he the same Jesus of the Jesus from the Bible?
Historically, the Jesus of the LDS church looks the same, except Jesus' post-resurrection visit to the America's recorded in the Book of Mormon. The Bible does not mention this event.
