Three weeks ago about four hundred displaced souls, otherwise known as the freshman class, arrived in Bolivar filled with fear, excitement, doubt and expectations. Like so many before them, their lives have been forever changed. Many are only a short distance of home, while others are thousands of miles away from all they have ever known.
This semester the ICS retreat was held at Rivendell Community House the weekend of Aug. 24 and 25. ICS majors and those interested in missions attended this two day retreat to hear from missionaries previously on the mission field. The group also spent time in fellowship and Bible study.
While many Southwest Baptist University students spend their few short summer months away from school working, taking summer classes or just relaxing, a few spent the summer traveling across the globe, experiencing culture as never before. Sophomore Becca Koe traveled to China with her family to learn more about her family's history and culture.
