On Wednesday, Student Government Association held class elections in the Goodson Student Union. The offices being voted on were freshman class president, freshman class vice president and senior class president.
Dylan Sammett and Toby Brown ran for freshman class president, with Sammett coming out victorious.
In the vice presidential race for the freshman class, Jordan Hart ran uncontested. Also running uncontested was senior class presidential candidate Heather Tanck.
In an election last May, the sophomore class chose Becca Koe as president, Kyle Brosseau as vice president, Mally Ulm as secretary and Laura Ross as treasurer for the 2007-08 school year. There are still openings for junior class officers, senior class vice president and representatives for all classes.
Students interested in student government are encouraged to come to meetings Monday nights at 6 p.m. in Davis Theater in the Goodson Student Union. Students do not have to be members to attend a meeting.
The University Activities Council also wants interested and enthusiastic students to help plan and put on events. Their meetings are Mondays at 7 p.m. in Davis Theater.
Any ideas, comments or concerns about the campus can be sent to SGA at sga@sbuniv.edu.
We look forward to reading them and putting your thoughts into action.
SGA has a variety of upcoming events on the agenda. First is Class Chapel on Sept. 10.
The designated areas for each class are as follows: freshmen in Pike Auditorium, sophomores in Meyer Recital Hall, juniors in Davis Theater and seniors in the Goodson Student Union.
