Volleyball has not been .500 since that moment in time, until 2007. After 1,140 miles of traveling, two tournaments and many sleepless nights and tired days; the SBU Lady Bearcats stand at 3-5.
Can Southwest Baptist University be this week's Appalachian State? No, really, can they? I threw this question out to a few people just to gauge their initial reactions. Each gave a stunned look of disgust as if I had just tainted the memory of the "supposed" greatest upset in college football history.
As I type this, the St. Louis Cardinals are exactly one game behind the Chicago Cubs for the National League Central division lead. They are also exactly one game over .500 for the year. Everybody knows the Cardinals slipped into the playoffs last year with a slightly above average record and went on to win the World Series.
