Professors and graduate perform in trio

Southwest Baptist University presented its first recital of the year, Thursday Sept. 6, in Meyer Recital Hall. The recital was a horn trio concert. The concert featured Darrel Barnes, adjunct professor of violin at Drury University on the French horn, accompanied by Cristi Clark Harris, SBU graduate, on the violin and Melinda Smashey, assistant professor of music at SBU, on the piano.

Thousand Foot Krutch ignites a "flame"

Thousand Foot Krutch releases their new album "The Flame In All Of Us" Tuesday, Sept. 18. This Canadian rock band includes singer Trevor McNevan, bass player Joel Bruyer and drummer Steve Augustine. Their new songs have the perfect rock mix of harmony and screams, not to mention lyrics that add gasoline to the fire within us.

Monk and Neagle return to campus

Last semester Monk and Neagle were a hit with students at SBU. Monk and Neagle will return to SBU Tuesday, Sept. 18 to bring a bang to Missions Week. The Missions Festival starts at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m. Paul "Dub" Pierce will be playing, Trent Monk and Michael Neagle started their twelve-year friendship in Amarillo, Texas.

New school year, new shows to watch

If you are like me, watching the Gilmore girls dine at Luke's for the last time brought a deep sadness and the inevitable question, 'what will I watch next season?' to mind as the summer months full of reruns dragged on. Even though I am still trying to pick up the pieces of my broken 'Gilmore' heart, I managed to compile a list of new shows from four major networks that may begin to heal those still hurting over last year's season finales.
