Nine mission opportunities available to students

This team will be ministering with the Bedouin people of Egypt.
Members will live among the people and experience culture first hand.
Katie Lowrance will be leading a trip to Utah beginning June 6 through 22.
The team will be able to talk with Mormons before the Manti Mormon Miracle Pageant each night.
Members will also visit Salt Lake City and will work along side other mission agencies and churches.
Sophomore Jon Rogers and junior Emily Shepard are co-leading a trip to Detroit, Mich.
Dates for this trip are June 11 through 21 and the cost is $680. The team will be working at an Arab Muslim festival that had 350,000 people in attendance last year.
They will team with Impact International and provide security as well as work in booths during the festival.
Landee Nevills, Beasley Hall resident director, will be leading a team to Miami, Fla. for two weeks in June.
The cost is $750.
The team will partner with churches around the area and work with Haitian and Hispanic people.
Nicky Ward, director of Discipleship Ministries, will be leading a trip to Kenya on May 23 to June 8.
The cost is $3,225.
This trip will be working with an orphanage and needs students who love children.
Sophomore Sara Weldy, Disciple Now assistant, also spoke of the need for students who can volunteer weekends to lead Disciple Now groups. There is also a need for a photographer.
Diana Gallamore, director of university missions, is excited about the trips this year.
"The opportunities have increased throughout the years and continues to rise," said Gallamore. "We've always been here to help people connect with their passion."
If interested in other opportunities stop by the Missions and Ministries Office located in the Goodson Student Union.
The first opportunity to sign up for an interview will be Monday, Sept. 17.
The interviews are required to be on a mission trip.
Interviews are thirty minutes. Students meet with a team leader and answer questions about their Christian life.
Tables will be set up in Mabee Chapel on Tuesday, Sept. 18 for Missions Fest from 6 to 7 p.m.
They will have information about each mission trip opportunity.
Dub Pierce will be leading worship starting at 7 p.m. with Monk and Neagle following at 8 p.m.
On Wednesday in Chapel Dr. John Marshall, pastor from Second Baptist Church of Springfield, will be giving a missions challenge to those in attendance.
