No one wants to gain the freshman, or upperclassman, fifteen.
Taking fitness classes at the Meyer Wellness and Sports Center can help keep off those unwanted pounds.
Fitness classes are offered each day during the week. There are plenty of opportunities to fit any busy schedule.
Workouts are available to all Southwest Baptist students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the Meyer Wellness and Sports Center.
Classes offered this semester are as follows:
Aqua Aerobics - Cardio workout using water resistance to tone.
Body Sculpting - Alternating cardio with muscle strengthening and conditioning using weights, stability balls, exercise bands, medicine balls and jump ropes.
Cardio Jam - An upbeat cardio class with fun moves to give the entire body a workout.
Cardio Step - A cardio workout while strengthening the total body.
Killer Abs - 15 minutes of intense abdominal work.
Total Fitness - Traditional 20-30 minutes of floor aerobics and 15-20 minutes of toning.
Pilates - Uses the body's own resistance to feel lengthened and leaner.
Kickboxing - Cardio workout using kickboxing techniques and moves.
Yoga - Stretching and strengthening the body in a relaxed environment.
Partner Step - A creative fun workout with a partner that includes toning and cardio.
Mixed Martial Arts - Well-rounded mix of martial arts for anyone.
Box Step - A combination of cardio step and kickboxing.
Fusion - A workout blending yoga poses with Pilates moves to strengthen and slim.
Turbo Kick - Kickboxing turned up to turbo focused on the center section of the body.
Balls & Bands - Using a medicine ball, stability ball and exercise bands to strengthen and tone.
