Sophomore Sara Weldy talked about her time spent in Russia.
"We (our team) were so close. We were knit together," said Weldy. "The Lord challenged me not to worry about where I should go but be willing to go. The biggest thing I was taught was humility."
She encouraged everyone to be willing to go wherever God leads.
Senior Ashley Herod went to Germany this year. The team's goal was to meet and build relationships with people as well as meet mission contacts. Herod said she learned what a day to day missionary life is about.
Christy Moore, who is a Journeyman mobilizer for the International Mission Board, wrapped up the chapel service. She encouraged all students to be willing to go no matter what was holding them back.
On Sept. 18 mission booths filled Mabee Chapel with opportunities for trips next year.
Each booth had information about the country or area the trip is located, pictures and ethnic foods or beverages.
"I thought the Kenya booth was neat," said freshman Lydia Nebel. "I'm interested in going there."
Nebel also enjoyed the Thailand booth.
"They had the best food," she said.
At the Brazil booth, students were able to sample some of the soda called Guarana while at the Philippines booth students were able to sample a rice dish.
Also present were leaders who will be leading the trips as well as previous team members that have gone to those countries.
