It was Monday, Sept. 17, and I was late to Chapel. My friend and I arrived in the middle of "Mondays with Dane and Dave," and Pike Auditorium was packed. The few seats we saw available were smack in the middle of the mob of students, and the fact that these seats were solitary told us they were probably some of the broken seats in Pike Auditorium.
Most Americans probably imagine those who fight the War on Terror as sleek, cool agents in black suits all wearing dark sunglasses. Often in movies, these people get all the glory with really breath-taking fights rife with near deadly explosions. On the other side of the spectrum is the war of information including the psychological aspect of terrorism often not emphasized.
Nearly 50 years ago after soldiers escorted the Little Rock Nine into Central High School in Arkansas, a rally was held in Jena, La. to protest the treatment of the Jena Six. While both events involve African-American students, high schools and catchy nicknames, the similarities suddenly end.
