Scratch Track includes DJ Lee from Kansas City and Jason Hamlin from Detroit. They bring together their styles forming an acoustic hip-hop soul genre.
Scratch Track first started out as a trio in 2000, but Will Gray left in 2005.
DJ does the vocals and beat box while Jason plays the guitar. The Chicago Sun Times compared them as a fusion of Digital Planets and Jack Johnson.
Their latest CD is "Interpretation of Afterwards." Their music is aimed for people to have a good time and some of their songs are meant to be thought provoking.
Jason's influences are The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and U2. DJ's influences are Take 6, Switchfoot, BeBe and CeCe Winans, DC Talk and Grits.
Jars of Clay, Will Hoge, Los Lonely Boys, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic and Living Colour are just some of the artists that they have played with.
Scratch Track was also selected to go on tour in Europe. Armed Forces Entertainment has put Scratch Track on the International U.S. Military tour.
They will be doing 11 shows in the UK, Netherlands, Germany and Belgium starting Oct. 17.
