See You at the Pole is a nationally recognized event held by Christian and public schools.

Starting a Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. standing around a flag pole in the early morning chill may not seem like an ideal morning, but for the students who attended See You at the Pole Wednesday, it was well worth the early hour.
Students, faculty and staff of Southwest Baptist University began gathering for See You at the Pole at 7:30 a.m.
The Student Government Association provided donuts and orange juice for breakfast. Praise and worship was next.
The only song sung was "Lord I Lift Your Name on High" led by freshman Kim Smith.
Following the song senior Chris Dutschmann led the group in prayer.
The group took turns praying for different things they felt were important.
About 13 people prayed out loud as the rest of the group listened and prayed silently
The prayer included praying first for the freedom to gather and pray, as was demonstrated by this event.
Following that was a prayer for the leaders of our nation; that they will be knowledgeable and have the guidance to make the right choices.
Also, prayer for the secular schools who were participating in the same activity was included.
Students prayed that those schools would have the courage to demonstrate their love for the Lord and be willing to share it with others.
Next, the students prayed for SBU and all the students, faculty and staff.
Their prayer was that the professors will have the knowledge to educate the students and that the students could receive that knowledge and apply it to daily life.
There was prayer for the nation as a whole and the citizens and for the entire world itself.
There was prayer that the students attending SBU would continue growing in their relationships with other and continue to grow physically, mentally, and spiritually themselves.
