Over 120 fans took in the Lady Bearcats' third consecutive victory and enjoyed amazing play from the home team. Heivary and Emmanuel got the crowd excited in a hurry when Heivary put home a one timer off the beautiful assist from Emmanuel who showed magnificent touch to draw the ball from the end line back across the face of the goal and onto Heivary's waiting foot.
Head Coach Ben Wade was pleased with the victory and chance to rest his team for Saturday's big showdown with the number one team in the region, the University of Central Missouri. Wade was grateful for the win as well as an injury free afternoon after going through what appeared to be a very chippy match that left some players vulnerable to injury.
In their much-anticipated match with UCM, the Lady Bearcats fell 1-0. It was a hard fought match full of intense confrontations and strong play. The combination of Emmanuel and Heivary at forward was extremely effective at mounting pressure for the Bearcats, but it was hard to find the back of the net, and the Lady Bearcats failed to score. In the 12 minute Angela Dobbie put her head on the ball of a corner and found the back of the net giving the Jennies the lead and ultimately the win.
Lopes was strong in goal, once again pulling some amazing saves to keep the game within reach. In the second half the Lady Bearcats pushed for a goal and worked very hard but could not find the back of the net. This loss drops the Lady Bearcats to 4-4-1.
