The first theatre production of the 2007-2008 school year was "Improvise," a night of improvisational theatre, performed during homecoming week. The show was in the Davis-Newport Theatre at 7 p.m. on Oct. 6, following the Homecoming Football game. The night was very informal, bearing much resemblance to the show "Whose Line is it Anyway," and kept with the tradition of improvisational theatre.
The music department was at its finest on Tuesday, Oct. 14 when Laura Compton performed her faculty recital in Meyer Recital Hall in the Geneva Casebolt College of Music Arts and Letters. From the moment Compton strode confidently across the stage, the audience was captivated.
Very few artists are able to have major hit albums in four different decades. In his new album "Magic," released Oct. 2, Bruce Springsteen returns to his classic rock roots with sounds reminiscing the Beach Boys and the Eagles. Of course, most of the songs still have his distinct sound but with some of the most intricate and thought provoking lyrics.
Emery released their third album "I'm Only a Man" on Oct. 2. This rock/alternative band includes members Toby Morell, Devin Shelton, Matt Carter, Josh Head and Dave Powell. Ryan Boesch helped with the making of the new CD. He has also worked with The Cure, Foo Fighters and From First to Last.
