From the moment Compton strode confidently across the stage, the audience was captivated. To begin her first song, the viola and piano played a beautiful duet that was followed by Compton's breathtaking mezzo-soprano voice soaring above the instrumentals.
Every song that Compton sang fit perfectly with her vocal range, singing with great emotion enchanting the audience stories of love, life and dying.
Compton sang a wide range of languages, including French, German, Spanish and English. Each song was performed with beauty and clarity, each different and better than the last. Compton's vocals were unbelievable as she executed many perfect runs and many difficult passages within each song.
Compton received her M.M. in Voice Performance from the University of Oklahoma in 2005. In the Metropolitan Opera National Convention Competition, Compton was a regional finalist and also in the Meistersinger Competition in Austria.
Compton has also performed in Carnegie Hall in New York City. Compton is currently in the Springfield Regional Opera production of Madama Butterfly as Suzuki.
