The Student Government Association hosted an art show for student and community participants on Saturday, Oct. 13. The showcase was located in Goodson Student Union and lasted from 3 to 5 p.m.
"The art show was put on to try and get different people's art out," said sophomore Becca Koe, major events committee chair. "We wanted to see the mediums people use in their art."
Dr. Larry Hodges put several of his art pieces on display including photographs and watercolors. There were a handful of artists that displayed their art.
These included Justin Fleming, freshman Stephanie Hoover and junior Brett Stump.
Senior Ivry Karamitros, Student Body President, displayed four of her photographs.
"Turn out was less than expected," said Karamitros. "We wanted to see more involvement from the community but didn't see that due to the lack of interest of the Bolivar Public School system. We were thrilled to have many pieces from our students here at SBU. We hope to see more involvement from our community in future projects."
Koe and Karamitros both called the event a learning experience and hope to host another art show in the future.
