On Friday, Oct. 5, the annual bed races were held in front of Randolph Chapel.
The men of Maupin Hall came out on top, winning the men's division and Leslie Hall took the win in the women's division.
Later that evening, students, faculty and staff participated in the night parade.
It began at Maupin Hall and concluded at a bonfire and pep rally behind Randolph Chapel.
"I liked how [the football players and staff] picked us up," said freshman Angie Cook. "I liked how we all walked together to the bonfire."
The University's Spirit Squad led students in a cheer and performed a routine.
Head football coach Keith Allen concluded the pep rally with a speech encouraging students to attend the football game and support the players.
"We need you to be the ninth player," said Allen.
Following the pep rally, students were provided refreshments.
The Homecoming parade was held Saturday, Oct. 6. There were approximately 64 entries, including 15 high school bands from the Bolivar area.
Landen Hall came out on top winning first place for their float themed "Swarming the Bulldogs." The float included flying monkeys and a giant bearcat portraying the Wicked Witch of the West from "The Wizard of Oz."
Leslie Hall came in second place with a float featuring a tornado whirling in the air.
Plaster Hall received third place for their efforts. Under the theme "The Ultimate Homecoming is Heaven," the float featured students dressed as angels and a giant throne in which senior Jeremiah Pearson dressed as Jesus.
This year, the overall Homecoming event winners were the Beasley Hall "babes." Scores were tabulated all week based on attendance to Homecoming events.
Senior Kristen Blinzler was crowned the 2007 Homecoming queen during halftime during the SBU Bearcats game against the Truman State University Bulldogs.
Blinzler is an elementary education major from Monett. Other Homecoming queen candidates were seniors Crystal Chesnut, Atefah Heivary, Ashley Herod and Rachel Kimrey.
