Men's team wins Border Wars at SIU - Edwardsville

The Southwest Baptist men's and women's cross country teams seem prepared for the MIAA Championship Meet this weekend in Kirksville. Two weekends ago, the teams competed in the Border Wars at Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville and competed very well.

Turner ruins Chiefs

The worst thing that could have ever happened to the Kansas City Chiefs franchise can be blamed on one man:Norv Turner. Turner, the man who is single handedly destroying the most talented team in the NFL (yes, even more talented than the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts), made the brilliant decision in the second half of the Chiefs game to not give the ball to LaDanian Tomlinson.

The Southwest Baptist women's soccer team has had a very interesting last couple of weeks. Regulation was not enough time to settle the match between the Lady Bearcats and Lions of Missouri Southern Oct. 5. Both teams entered the match tied for fourth in conference play.

At the start of the Oct. 6 Homecoming game against the Truman State Bulldogs (4-2, 2-2 in MIAA), junior running back Jeff Finnell told Coach Keith Allen he was feeling good about the day he thought he could have. "Coach…run me 'til my legs fall off," said Finnell.

Volleyball team falls on tough times

As the season for the Lady Bearcats moves past the halfway point, Southwest Baptist has hit a rough stretch. Between losing their middle-blocker to an ankle injury at Emporia and playing two top-tier teams of the conference SBU lost both matches. SBU traveled 200 miles and came out swinging against the Lady Hornets of Emporia on Oct.
