As the semester is winding down, Student Government is still moving at full speed. On Wednesday, Nov. 14, SGA hosted the first annual Turkey Bowl.
The Turkey Bowl consisted of a Powder Puff football game with the freshmen and sophomores versus the juniors and seniors. Everyone in attendance at the game had a good time, even the players.
It was a well-fought game, with the junior/senior team coming out victorious.
This game was held at Plaster Stadium. Admission cost to the game was a canned food item.
By the end of the game Student Government collected a large box of canned foods and some monetary donations. The canned foods and monetary donations will go to a local family in need.
On the SGA agenda is an upcoming visitation survey. This survey will give students the chance to speak out on what they think about visitation. Previous articles have stated that Student Government has been researching possible visitation ideas. Now we need to know percentages on what students want.
In years past visitation has been split, half wanted to increase and the other half did not want anymore at all. This survey will prove whether or not visitation is split.
There will also be a comment box where students can give suggestions about specific times visitation could be increased.
Student Government recommends that comments be specific about hours and days that they would like to see visitation increase, if that is the case.
The survey will be accessible on Blackboard starting at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30. The survey will remain on Blackboard until 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7. Each student will be able to fill out the survey only once.
Student Government still wants to hear any ideas or concerns that students may have. All students are invited to attend weekly SGA meetings at 6 p.m. on Monday nights in Davis Theater inside Goodson Student Union. We will be meeting on the Monday of Finals week.
