University Activities Council is showcasing Bradley Hathaway at a Coffee Shop Show on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in Goodson Student Union.
This will be Hathaway's second performance at Southwest Baptist University. Students may remember Hathaway's humorous and outlandish poetry.
Hathaway was identified as "the poet who has never read poetry" in a biography about his rise to fame on his Myspace. He has been writing poetry since 2004 and since has toured the United States and Europe, released a record of poetry and wrote a book.
In October 2007, Hathaway released his second album titled "The Thing that Poets Write About, The Thing that Singers Sing About."
"Through Bradley's unique style of poetry he delivers a challenging message to both secular and Christian audiences," said junior Tyler Wilkins, UAC concert chair.
This album was recorded live in an abandoned house in Kentucky with the roots of American music intertwined in Hathaway's style.
SBU sophomore Joe Moore will be opening the show at 7 p.m. and Hathaway will follow.
