Psi Chi, the Behavioral Sciences Honor Society, will start collecting books for a book drive fundraiser beginning Friday, Feb. 1.
"We hope that it will be an opportunity for students to clean off their book shelves," said junior Collin Christensen, Psi Chi president.
Boxes are located in the lobbies of the dorms, Goodson Student Union and Behavioral Sciences office.
Psi Chi is requesting students donate old, used or new books that will be sold for a fundraiser.
Any type of book is welcome. Textbooks, cookbooks, instruction manuals, study guides, fiction, science fiction and children's books are among the various types of books that will be accepted.
The book collection will end on Friday, Feb. 15. Then Psi Chi members will sort through the books and price them.
Tables will be set up with the mixture of books in Goodson Student Union on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 21 and 22.
Prices will range from 25 cents to $1 for most books.
"The prices will be easily affordable on a college student's budget," said Christensen.
Money raised from the book sale will be used by Psi Chi for future service projects and expenses for traveling to a sociology conference in March.
