The men's and women's courtwarming games are tomorrow evening against Pittsburg State. Both games carry significance in that they will further help determine SBU's conference ranking heading into the MIAA Championship Tournament. As of Wednesday night, the men's and women's teams have clinched a spot in the tournament.
The men's team is currently ranked 18th in the nation in Division II and holds a one-game lead over Missouri Southern in the MIAA. In their previous match-up with Pittsburg State, the Bearcats rolled over the Gorillas, 85-61. In that game, senior Jim Grabowski recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
The Lady Bearcats are ranked third in the MIAA behind nationally-ranked Emporia State and Washburn. In the Lady 'Cats prior game with Pittsburg State, SBU won a hard-fought battle, 86-80 behind 29 points, six rebounds and five assists from senior Erika Souza.
So far this season, the men's and women's teams are a combined 26-0 at home.
