The SBU men's and women's
basketball teams travel
to Kansas City this weekend
to compete in the MIAA
tournament at Municipal
Auditorium.
The men enter the tournament
as the #1 seed and will
take on #8 Emporia State
today at noon. In their previous
meetings this year, SBU
won by the scores of 93-70 and
82-79. Head coach Jeff Guiot's
team clinched the MIAA regular
season title by defeating
Central Missouri State in the
final home game of the year.
The Bearcats are led by the
balanced scoring of senior Jim
Grabowski, junior D'Ante
Harris and sophomore Matt
Rogers.
Grabowski is averaging 16
points and seven rebounds per
game while Harris and Rogers
both average 15 points per
game. On the defensive end,
Harris has 35 steals this year
while Rogers swatted a schoolrecord
127 shots.
The Lady 'Cats are the #3
seed and were scheduled to
take on #6 Central Missouri
last night. At the time of publication
scores were unavailable.
SBU split the season series
with the Jennies winning the
game in Warrensburg and
dropping the game at home.
