The group is under the direction of Dr. Jim Tarrant, director of choral studies at SBU.
The SBU Jazz Ensemble will feature music for the classic 17-piece big-band instrumental ensemble and will include settings of such familiar tunes as "My Buddy" and "Just a Closer Walk," as well as other contemporary swing, Latin, and funk-flavored compositions for big band and jazz combo. The student ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Jeffery Waters, SBU professor of music.
