This week, Student Government Association Vice President junior Kyle Brosseau met with Dennis Owens, director of Mellers Dining Commons, and other Mellers Dining Commons staff members.
The group discussed how in previous semesters a representative from SGA has met with Owens on a regular basis.
The representative would present the staff with ideas and suggestions that students had brought forward. This person would also ask any questions that students had.
The group was in agreement that this person is beneficial. SGA is now discussing the possibility of implementing this representative again, possibly at the start of the fall 2008 semester.
Owens and the Mellers Dining Commons staff said they are always open to constructive suggestions from students.
An example of a suggestion students have made is the toothpick dispenser at the front counter.
In other news, students may remember a non-working big screen television that used to sit in Goodson Student Union before the new wall-hung flat-screen was purchased.
The big screen was removed and has been sitting in the SGA office.
On Monday, April 21, a repairman came to fix the television. Currently some of the parts to the TV are in the repair shop and will soon be in working order.
As soon as the big screen is working, SGA will be giving it away to a student at an upcoming event before the end of the semester. The details regarding when are still being decided upon.
With the semester winding down, there are a few weeks left for everyone to come be a part of an SGA meeting with the newly elected Executive Cabinet.
Meetings are held at 6 p.m. on Mondays in Goodson Student Union.
To voice concerns, issues or questions contact SGA at sga@sbuniv.edu.
