Initiative focuses on enrollment statistics

The fifth initiative of Southwest Baptist University's Seven Strategic Initiative plan targets growth and stewardship of resources.
Initiative Five states, "Southwest Baptist University intentionally will plan for growth and stewardship of its physical and human resources. Plans will include identification of current capacity and development of a vision for future growth."
The mission statement of SBU will be reflected in this growth. SBU will develop programs to meets the needs of a changing population.
There are eight goals that correspond to this initiative that will be accomplished within the next five years.
When the University Planning Advisory Council formed a sub-committee, Rodney Reeves, dean of the Courts Redford College of theology and ministry, was chosen as the chair.
Also serving on this sub-committee are Linda Armer, Clyde Elder, Brad Gamble and Stephanie Miller.
The sub-committee developed objectives that related to the goals of Initiative Five and presented them to UPAC. These objectives were reviewed, and one was chosen that corresponded with Goals One, Two, Five, Six and Seven.
Goal One is to look at the University's current facilities, support services and human resources in regards to future enrollment. The second goal is to develop a plan for enrollment to grow after looking at the University currently. The fifth goal also relates to developing enrollment goals but for diverse groups of students.
Goals Six and Seven are about SBU tuition and discount rates. Goal Six is to study tuition rates at SBU and other universities. Goal Seven is to develop goals for the discount rates for the next five years.
The objective that was approved by UPAC states that SBU will "Study enrollment trends, potential for growth and tuition rates over the next five years for all SBU campuses."
