College students love to complain about campus parking, but for one lucky and talented Southwest Baptist University student, a special gold sticker is a passport to free parking all over campus, even in faculty spaces.
Each year SBU Safety and Security sponsors a design contest for parking stickers.
The winner of this year's parking sticker contest is sophomore Alex Merrell.
Voting for this year's contest ended April 29.
Merrell's design beat out three other finalists after a tie led to four finalists instead of the usual three.
As the contest winner, Merrell does not have to pay for a parking sticker and is given a special gold sticker which allows for parking in any space on campus, except for handicapped spaces.
Other finalists included senior Caitlin Flowers, sophomore Melissa Brown and junior Michael Best.
Around 300 students, faculty and staff voted in the parking sticker contest.
This year's contest was the seventh time Safety and Security has offered free parking for the year in exchange for winning the hearts and minds of SBU students, staff and faculty.
