As Southwest Baptist University's Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team heads to compete in the National SIFE competition in Chicago, Ill. next week, the newly-elected officers for the 2008-2009 school year prepare to take leadership and continue SBU's winning SIFE tradition.
Junior Jillian Arnett was reelected as SIFE president.
Junior Rebekah Wright was elected to replace graduating senior Holly Stockard as vice president and hopes to carry her positive experiences and success into next year.
"I have had such a great time with SIFE this year and have enjoyed seeing the amazing success our team has had," said Wright. "I am so excited to be able to step up my involvement with SIFE and look forward to another successful year."
Freshman Jared Green was elected to replace senior Levi Bridge as secretary and hopes to expand the organization.
"I hope to help SIFE continue the success that it saw this year and build on it," said Green. "Also I would really like to see more freshman involved next year. I've been told that compared to previous years, we have had a great turn out in freshmen this year. However, I would like to see this number grow even more. As a secretary I will try my hardest to get new members involved in the club and keep everyone informed about what is going on with the club."
Junior Matt Clair will return next year as the SIFE treasurer and says he looks forward to continuing his role in SIFE's service to the Bolivar community.
"This year, I hope to expand our project outreach to include a greater portion of the Bolivar community," said Clair. "As treasurer, I also hope to cement SIFE's financial situation by securing donors to work with us on our projects by supporting them financially each year, and by informing new business leaders and community members of the great opportunities to be had by supporting SBU SIFE. I am looking forward to working with returning and new members of our SIFE team, and to serving the community another year."
