The Southwest Baptist University speech and debate team competed in the invitational tournament hosted by Hutchinson Community of Kansas on Nov. 7 and 8. Seventeen schools from Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma participated in the debate and individual events competition.

A riot ensued in Jerusalem between the Greek Orthodox and Armenian monks on Sunday, Nov. 9 at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, a traditional site of Jesus Christ's crucifixion. Israeli police were called to restore order. Two monks from each side were detained as dozens of worshippers traded kicks and punches at the shrine, according to BBC.
